Q: What is Lagos Management College?
A: Lagos Management College (LMC) is a learner-centered, international provider of recognised academic qualifications. It also provides tuition for recognized professional and academic qualifications.

Q: Is the IPMA recognised in Nigeria?
A: Yes. The International Professional Managers Association (IPMA) - UK is a member of the National Academic Recognition Information
Center of the United Kingdom (UK - NARIC) and a Professional Body Member of the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs ACBSP in the USA. International Professional Managers Association - UK is also recognized in Nigeria by the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Education. The Ministry has thus done the evaluation of the IPMA Licentiate and Associate Membership and determined their entry level into the public service as level 9 and 10 respectively.

Q: Is passing the examinations of the IPMA guaranteed after my studies with Lagos Management College?
A: All students have to submit themselves to the examination of the IPMA. The IPMA will decide who should pass or fail according to the standards set Studying with Lagos Management College will be part of the process of success. The rest is entirely in your hands and depends upon your dedication, commitment and a willingness to work to achieve your desired results. Lagos Management College cannot guarantee success.

Q: If I am ill what happens?
A: All students will be allowed leave of absence during the period of their studies. It must be noted that the programmes have been scheduled to enable students to be prepared for the examinations of the IPMA which are on set dates. If student is unable to complete the study schedules then LMC will be prepared to allow the student to re-commence his/her studies for the next period.

Q: Are there any refund of fees?
A: Lagos Management College is open to consider circumstances outside of the control of the student to merit an application for refund of fees. In general terms there are no refunds of fees paid when the student has commenced their course of studies.

Q: I do not understand the assignments and material given?
A: Your nominated faculty tutor is always available to help and communication with him should resolve your difficulties.

Q: I would like to purchase additional books and learning materials?
A: We can provide this service to you in assisting you in sourcing books and other learning materials. We do not charge a fee for this service, only cost of materials and your requested method of dispatch. We will be pleased to assist.

Q: I have been late In submitting my assignments.
A: All assignments have to be handed in at set dates and this is a discipline that we insist all our students put into practice. Effective management is also about time management. If you are unable to plan effectively then you are not helping yourself to be an effective manager. Late submission of assignments past the due date without permission will not be marked.

Q: I could not sit the examinations may I continue to do the course again without payment?
A: If you have been unable to sit the IPMA examinations, you may resit the course again but we regret that you have to make a payment for the service. You have to pay 50% of the published fee for the resit. No additional books or materials previously sent will be given. However any additional or more up to date material will be given.

Q: I have failed the examination can I enroll to do the next level course?
A: We will not encourage you to do so because you should complete the level you failed before you undertake additional work and effort to prepare yourself for another level. The IPMA will not allow you to apply as a candidate for the next level. We strongly advise that you complete the failed level first. You can rejoin the course by paying 50% of the published fees for the res it.

Q: I have now completed the examinations and have to undertake the workplace project and the Internship. Can Lagos Management College supervise my project?
A: No. The project is a work place project and should be supervised by your superior in your work place. The IPMA will be responsible for the assessment of your work place project leading towards your certified status.

Q: I have never taken a home study course. Can I really learn by distance?
A: Yes! Every year millions of students are completing home study courses, world wide. Using modern methods, you get to learn in the comfort of your own home. Your instructor is a specialist who will devote his/her entire attention to you and carefully evaluate your progress and provide special help if you need it.

Q: I have been out of school for a long time. Will I have trouble taking your course?
A: Even if it's been years, you will find LMC training easy to follow, and fun.

Q: I am in school. Can I take your course at the same time?
A: We generally discourage scholars from taking our courses while still in school, as your primary concern should be your school studies. However, in special cases, and with your parents' permission, it can be arranged.

Q: How will I stay motivated? Won't it be difficult without a face-to-face tutor and regular classes?
A: Our courses and study material has specifically been designed for the distance learning environment. Courses are designed to give you manageable chunks at a time, to keep you motivated and to promote tutor contact. The study material is written in clear, simple language, has clear objective, is filled with activities and examples, as well as self-assessment exercises and tests - we "write the teacher into the study material".

Q: How long will it take me to complete my training?
A: Generally, each of our programme is structured to last between 9 - 24 months.

Q: Are there any cost beside the tuition fee?
A: No. Since LMC runs collaborative programmes, tuition fee is all inclusive of IPMA student membership and examination registration fees, cost of textbooks and study monthly.

Q: Does LMC guarantee jobs upon graduation?
A: No ethical college guarantees students a job. Good sound training and career readiness is what we provide to last between 9 - 24 months.

Q: How does the distance - learning method of study work?
These are distance learning programmes, they can be studied from any location through a standard internet connection, textbooks and case studies, Examinations are held in the student’s country of residence.Also, where applicable, your study materials are delivered to you through our resident representatives in your country.Furthermore, you may also have the opportunity for face to face tutor interaction as may be arranged by our local representatives.

Q: Do I need a password to access on line learning materials and research library?
Yes. Once you have been accepted and registered, you will be sent a personal Log-in and User ID passwords which are activated 24-48 hours after they are issued to you. With these passwords, you will have access to the study material for your programme through the internet.

Q: Can I study the materials off line?
Yes. You can study the material off-line at your own pace and at times which are convenient to you. In addition to the time on-line, you should expect to spend around 40 hours or more per module offline working through the study material and exercises. The study hours will depend on your background.

Q: Is it compulsory to visit the internet for my studies?
No. With the aid of your recommended textbooks, study guides, case studies (where necessary) and weekly examinations given to you by your tutors, you should be able to pass all your examinations without visiting the internet. However, occasional visits might be necessary to download additional study materials and articles to aid your studies.


Q: What written work do I have to do?

Each student must sit for a major examination or produce a written paper for each module, of up to 4,000 words, which are assessed. In addition, you will be expected to complete short assignment and tests, which will be sent for each course. These tests will be arranged at set times.

Q: I haven't studied for quite a long - time will I be able to manage?
The study guides are designed to help the students develop their skills. You are not required to have previous knowledge in this field, but you are expected to be able to apply yourself to reading the study materials provided, make your own notes and complete the set assignment for each course. the most important requirements are self discipline, personal commitment and willingness to consider new ideas and interpretations. You will eventually develop your own style of learning to suit yourself.


Q: What do I ask for help?
If you have difficulties, you should contact our local country representative who will provide individual advice, directly or through a designated faculty mentor in your country.


Q: What status do my Certificates/Diplomas/Degrees have?

Your Certificates/Diplomas/Degrees are recognized throughout the world and confirms your intellectual abilities, knowledge, expertise and management skills as a result of your studies.

They are therefore passports to further advance level studies, and undoubtedly is are highly prized qualifications, which will enhance your career prospects.


Q: Are any visits to campus required?
No. You are welcome to visit us in Paris, but there are no required Campus visits. All courses can be completed entirely by distance learning.


Q: How are exams administered? Do I need a proctor?

Some instructors do not require exams. When an exam is required, it will be "take home" exam which does not require a proctor. Distance learning assumes a mature approach by students, in which only their own, original work is submitted.

You must sign to this effect. However, occasionally, you may be asked to sit for a 3-hour examination at the end of a module. Where this is required, you will be given the case study material to study before the examination is administered.

Q: Who supervises my thesis? (MBA students only)
It is your responsibility to nominate two people out of whom one will approved for you by the University to supervise your project.

Q: What qualification should my supervisor possess?
Your supervisor must have a Doctorate degree in your area of specialization or related field and must have teaching/researching in the area for not less than six years in a recognized university level/professional institution.
